England beat Ireland to reach World U20 Championship final

In a nail-biting World Rugby Under-20 Championship semi-final held in Cape Town, England triumphed over Ireland.

Ireland took the early lead with tries from Oliver Coffey and Bryn Ward in the first half. However, England responded with tries from Craig Wright, Ollie Allan, and Sean Kerr, giving them a slim 22-20 advantage at halftime.

The second half saw fewer scoring opportunities, but England maintained their edge thanks to nine crucial points kicked by centre Sean Kerr, ultimately holding off a determined Irish side.

England, aiming for their first championship title since 2016, will face the winner of the New Zealand vs. France semi-final in the final on 19 July in Cape Town.

Meanwhile, Ireland, having missed the chance to reach consecutive finals, will compete for third place against the loser of the second semi-final.
