Eilish McColgan continued her winning form with a dominant performance in the Vitality London 10,000 women’s race, finishing in an impressive time of 31 minutes 36 seconds. McColgan, fresh from a 15th-place finish in the 10,000m at the 2024 Paris Olympics, led the field through the streets of central London, securing yet another victory in her decorated distance running career.

McColgan was followed by Lucy Reid, who took second place with a time of 32:17, and Lily Reid, who rounded out the podium in third, finishing in 32:37.

In the men’s race, Jack Rowe crossed the line first, clocking a time of 29 minutes 14 seconds to claim victory. Rowe, known for his strong performances over the 10km distance, finished ahead of Seyfu Jamaal, who came in second with a time of 29:42. Tewelde Menges took third place in 29:55.

Wheelchair Races See Weir and Snopek Dominate

British Paralympian David Weir added another victory to his illustrious career, winning the men’s wheelchair race in a time of 22 minutes 13 seconds. Weir, a veteran of the sport and multiple-time Paralympic champion, once again showed his strength on the 10km course.

In the women’s wheelchair event, Martyna Snopek claimed victory with a time of 38:37, putting in a solid performance over the course that weaves through some of London’s most iconic landmarks.

The Vitality London 10,000, which takes place in the heart of the city, is one of the UK's most popular road races. Participants follow a scenic route that passes notable London landmarks including Nelson’s Column, St Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament, before finishing in front of Buckingham Palace.

McColgan’s win solidifies her status as one of Britain’s leading distance runners, while Rowe’s victory further establishes him as a rising talent on the UK running circuit. Both athletes now turn their attention to upcoming events, with McColgan eyeing further success in what has already been a standout season for the Scottish star.
