Chelsea Accept Atletico Madrid Bid for Conor Gallagher

Chelsea have accepted a bid from Atletico Madrid for midfielder Conor Gallagher after the player turned down a new contract offer from the Blues in June. The England international, 24, is now in a position to negotiate personal terms following Atletico's bid of approximately £33 million, according to sources in Spain.

The London club reportedly prefers to sell Gallagher to a club outside of English football, even at a lower fee, rather than the £45 million previously discussed with Aston Villa in June. This decision highlights Chelsea's strategic approach to his transfer.

Gallagher's willingness to move overseas remains uncertain, but Chelsea are prepared to sell with less than a year remaining on his current contract. In June, the midfielder declined a three-year contract offer from Chelsea, which was structured as a two-year deal with an option for an additional year.

Gallagher also has the option to leave Chelsea on a free transfer next summer. He has previously attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, West Ham, and Everton.

As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on Gallagher's decision regarding his future and whether he will embrace the opportunity to play in La Liga or explore other options.
