In a triumphant return to form, the Northern Superchargers secured a decisive seven-wicket victory over the Southern Brave at Headingley, ending their run of six consecutive defeats in the Hundred men's competition.

Chasing a target of 147, the Superchargers were propelled by a brilliant innings from Nicholas Pooran, who scored 62 off just 34 balls. Pooran’s aggressive batting laid a solid foundation for the chase, effectively neutralizing the Brave's bowling attack.

Captain Harry Brook sealed the victory in style, smashing a towering six down the ground to finish the match with 15 balls to spare. Brook, making his first appearance in this season’s Hundred, contributed significantly with an unbeaten 34 off 20 balls, and shared a crucial 50-run partnership with Pooran.

The Southern Brave, who elected to bat first after winning the toss, managed to post 146-8 in their 100 balls. Kieron Pollard top-scored with 37 runs off 22 deliveries. However, their total proved insufficient against a determined Superchargers side. This victory marks the Northern Superchargers' first win in the competition since defeating the Trent Rockets in the group stage of last season. The relief and joy were evident among the Superchargers’ players and fans as they celebrated breaking their losing streak.

The win not only boosts the Superchargers' confidence but also rejuvenates their campaign in this season’s Hundred. With key performances from Pooran and Brook, they will look to build on this momentum in their upcoming matches.

The updated scorecard and table reflect a much-needed shift in fortunes for the Northern Superchargers, who will aim to continue this winning form as the competition progresses.
