England will face Spain in Sunday's Euro 2024 final in Berlin after beating the Netherlands 2-1 in the semi-final

England and Spain are set to clash for the third time in European Championship history, with England having emerged victorious in the previous two encounters.

In the 1980 group stages, England secured a 2-1 win over Spain in Naples, though neither team advanced past the group stage. Their next meeting came in the 1996 tournament's last 16 at Wembley, where England triumphed in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw.

The two nations' only other major tournament encounter occurred during the 1950 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, where Spain narrowly defeated England 1-0 in a group stage match.

More recently, England claimed a 3-2 victory over Spain in Seville during the 2018 Nations League. However, prior to that, England had only won two of their ten meetings with Spain, excluding penalty shootouts.
