Portuguese Forward Signs Seven-Year Deal as Chelsea Strengthen Attacking Options

Chelsea have completed the signing of Portuguese forward Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a deal worth up to £54 million. The 24-year-old has committed his future to the Blues by signing a seven-year contract, which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2031.

Neto, who had been a key target for Chelsea throughout the summer, was officially unveiled to the club’s supporters during halftime of their friendly match against Inter Milan on Sunday. The signing marks another significant addition to Chelsea's squad as they continue to bolster their attacking options under new manager Enzo Maresca.

"I feel really grateful to have joined this club," Neto said during his introduction. "I have worked really hard in my career to be here, and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt."

Chelsea reached an agreement with Wolves on Friday after having two previous bids rejected. The Blues will pay an initial £51.3 million, with an additional £2.6 million in performance-related add-ons, making Neto one of the club's most significant signings of the summer.

Neto has been one of Wolves' standout performers since joining the club in 2019, known for his pace, dribbling skills, and ability to create and score goals. His arrival at Chelsea is seen as a strategic move to enhance the club's offensive depth and provide Maresca with more options in the final third.

Chelsea fans will be eagerly anticipating Neto's debut, as the forward looks to make an immediate impact in the Premier League. With the new season fast approaching, his addition is expected to add a new dimension to Chelsea’s attack as they aim to challenge for top honors domestically and in Europe.
